Exact Pharma have a solution to this: Pre-Paid Cards. Pre-Paid cards are available to buy at most Money Transfer Bureau’s (for example: Western Union). You may also be able to get Pre-Paid cards from banks in your country.

You can top up your Pre-Paid card at anytime with any amount*. You don’t have to have an account with the bank to buy one, and they don't require any credit checks. Put simply: it is your money but in a form similar to that of a Credit Card or Debit Card. Pre-Paid cards don't allow any overdraft so what you use is what you've already Pre-Paid. Also, if your card is stolen or misplaced, they will replace the funds and send you a new card*.

You can use Pre-Paid Cards online when purchasing goods, or even over the phone, very much like a Credit or Debit Card. The main difference being, you won’t owe any money to anyone, because it is the money you've Pre-Paid.

Getting a Pre-Paid Card from a Western Union shop

• Some Western Union agents/retailers have Pre-Paid cards already in stock. This is convenient if you want to get a Pre-Paid card the same day. Otherwise there is a wait of 15 days if you were order one from their website.
• You may need to provide some form of ID (eg. passport or driving license) and/or proof of address. You should contact your local money bureau for details before visiting them.
• You are able to use cash to top up your Pre-Paid Card.

Getting a Pre-Paid Card Online (Using Western Union)*

• You need to fill in an application form online, but you won’t have to provide any ID. You do, however, need to provide a valid address.
• You need to add £20 to your Pre-Paid card when you first buy one. You can pay (or top up) using a Debit Card or Credit Card, or you can purchase a voucher (with cash) from any of their PayPoint outlets which allows you to use it when applying online.
• Your Pre-Paid Card will be delivered to you within 15 days. It is a requirement that it must be activated before using it. You can activate it by calling their activation line. You will receive an activation code separately from your Pre-Paid Card.

It can prove really useful to have a Pre-Paid Card, especially if you don’t have a Credit or Debit card, or even if you don’t want to use your main Credit Card or Debit Card online or over the phone.
